ABOUT US At the Marie Josephine Academy for girls, we educate the ‘Whole girl’. This includes her character, her culture, her morality, her creativity, and sense of herself in society. We are more than just a school but a lifestyle for young girls. Ages 6-12 are the formative years and the most impressionable. These are the years children develop certain vital habits – as we all know, one’s habits shapes the development of one’s character. At MJA, we want students to develop the highest character through educational training and hands on experience. In keeping with the legacy of Marie Josephine -- a woman who embodied impeccable virtue, demanded excellence, and selflessly devoted her life to the charitable uplift of others – MJA will connect girls to this tradition. Our school seeks to properly equip them with the academic skills, social refinement, and spiritual foundation that will nurture them into becoming the next generation of leaders. MJA is a non-traditional culture centered American private school headquartered in Liberia for lower school girls grades 1st – 4th. We will follow a curriculum that is based on the school standards in the United States but also incorporating courses needed for our fourth graders to transition well into the Liberian middle school system. |
